Where settings live

Open settings from Settings in the left sidebar.

For platform administrators, Settings expands to its scopes. The parent Settings link opens Published: your organization’s resolved settings, showing the value that applies and where it came from. Beneath it are the platform-default scopes you set for every organization: Global, Databricks, Snowflake, and Fabric (Microsoft Fabric). Each scope has its own address, so you can bookmark or link straight to one, for example /admin/settings/databricks.

For organization administrators, Settings is a single link that opens your organization’s settings directly. There are no scopes to choose: you configure only your own organization.

Inside any scope, the sections run down a rail on the left of the page (Target Platform, Shared, Preferences, Staging, Data Vault, and so on). Choose a section on the left and edit it on the right. The breadcrumb reads Settings › Scope › Section (for Published, simply Settings › Section), so your place is always clear.

The Shared section holds settings that apply across every project, including how DeltaVault builds business keys: the separator and column-pattern for concatenated business keys, and business key normalisation. See Concatenated business keys for how those settings shape the generated key.
