Governance check

You have uploaded a knowledge document and want to know whether it lines up with the business model you have already built: which entities it mentions, which classification lanes it covers, and where the gaps are. The governance check gives you that picture without touching anything. It reads the document, cross-references it against your business entities and category lanes, and opens a dedicated review page showing exactly what it found. The review page is read-only: it reports coverage and links you to where you would act, but it changes nothing on its own.

Run the check

1. Go to Knowledge and open the document you want to check, or select its row in the documents grid. The check needs exactly one document: with anything else selected, the panel says “Select a single knowledge document to run this skill.”
2. Open the Ask AI panel from the Ask AI button in the top header. The panel is always available: you do not need to be in edit mode.
3. Choose Analyze governance coverage, then click Run. DeltaVault begins cross-referencing the document against your business entities and category lanes using AI.
4. The panel reports live progress while the check runs.
5. When the check completes, click Open report. The review page opens, titled Governance review. While a run is still going you can stop it there with Abandon.

Read the report

The review page is read-only. It never changes your model. Every finding comes with a link that takes you to the exact place in DeltaVault where you would act.

Summary

A short narrative at the top of the page describes how well the document is covered overall: what proportion of your entities and lanes it touches, and whether coverage is strong or sparse.

Entities

Each business entity the document references appears in this section with three pieces of information:

• In model: whether the entity already exists in your business model.
• Mentions: roughly how many times the entity appears in the document.
• Link: if the entity is in your model, the link opens its detail page. If it is not yet in your model, the link takes you to the place to add it.

Lane coverage

Each category lane in your organization is listed with a coverage-strength label. The label is one of four: strong (the document discusses that lane in depth), moderate (the lane is meaningfully present), weak (the lane is only briefly touched on), or absent (the document does not cover that lane at all).

Unclassified content

Document sections that did not map to any category lane appear here. If the list is long, it may indicate that some lanes are not yet defined or that the document covers topics outside your current category set.

Gaps

Each actionable finding is listed here with a deep link. Gaps might point to a missing entity in your model, an undefined lane, or a topic the document covers that nothing in your current setup accounts for. Follow the link for each gap to go to the place where you can act.

What the check does and does not do

The governance check is a diagnostic, not an editing action. It reads your document and your current business model, compares them, and reports what it finds. It never writes to your model, never archives a document, and never applies a change automatically.

To act on a finding, follow the deep link next to that finding. The link takes you to the right place in DeltaVault: an entity detail page, the place to add a new entity, or the category conventions screen. Every change you make is your decision, not the check’s.

A run in progress can be abandoned at any time with Abandon on the review page. Abandoning discards the in-progress result; it does not affect the document or your model in any way.
